BCBF Goes Hi-Tech

 

The Black Country Boating Festival web site is now up and running.

 

As well as information about the festival visitors to the web-site can download entry forms for this year’s event and browse a gallery of photographs taken during previous years.

Can You Help ?

 

Just like the majority of canal based events the Black Country Boating Festival relies entirely on volunteers to ensure its success.

 

We always need help over the festival weekend but are also looking for volunteers to assist with the pre-event activities.

 

If you can spare an hour or two during the the festival weekend or wish to take a more active role in the

organisation of the event then we want to hear from you.

Happy Birthday Netherton Tunnel

 

August 20th will be the 150th anniversary of the opening of the 3027 yard Netherton Tunnel. The tunnel was one of the last built during the canal era.

 

BCBF has joined with local canal societies to arrange a series of events to celebrate the opening of the tunnel and other improvements made to the Dudley Canals in 1858.
